In Real Money Texas Hold Em Poker Multiple Possibilities are Better

Sayings such as "Don't put all your eggs in one basket", "Have many irons in the fire" and "Have a finger in many pies" are just some ways of describing the fact that it is better not to be dependant upon just one potential outcome, and that having more than one chance at being successful or winning is far more preferable. The same can be said for a Texas Hold Em poker hand, in that it is far better to have a number of different ways of having the strongest hand which ultimately wins the pot than just waiting and hoping for a card which can only allow you to win in one particular way.

To put it in a different way, there will be Texas Hold Em hands where the only way you can possibly have a hand capable of winning is seeing a card on the river which will produce a flush for example or it won't, and that is all there is to it. Where you will have a much stronger chance of winning is if the card on the river can produce a winning hand for you in two or possibly three ways, such as making a pair of aces or fitting nicely into a straight. In this instance you are not relying on an all-or-nothing turn of the card, but instead have multiple ways to win. As such it is worth calling, or raising if you are feeling bold, more than it is if you only have one way in which to win as the odds are more in your favour this way.

The flop will often present a player with multiple opportunities and potential for completing a winning hand on the turn or the river. It will be up to the individual to assess the strength of the potential hands, the likelihood of them occurring and whether their opponents could make a similar or stronger hand from the communal cards on the table. If you are new to playing Texas Hold Em poker for real money it is wise to play cautiously whilst you gain the skill and experience for assessing these situations, otherwise you run the risk of losing a lot of your money whilst you learn.
